When not capitalised or preceded by the programme name, the term accreditation is used below to refer either to the process of accrediting an organisation or to include both the Erasmus Accreditation and the European Solidarity Corps Quality Label.

What is Erasmus Accreditation?

Erasmus Accreditation is

a process to ensure that the organisations wishing to receive funding under an Action of the Erasmus+ Programme comply with a set of qualitative standards or pre-requisites laid down by the European Commission for that Action.

Erasmus+ Programme Guide, - Glossary of terms

Depending on the type of Action or on the country where the requesting organisation is located, the Erasmus accreditation is carried out by the European Education and Culture Executive Agency, a National Agency or a SALTO Resource Centre. The Erasmus accreditation process is in place for organisations wishing to participate in higher education projects (including mobility) or in mobility activities in the field of youth.

What is the European Solidarity Corps Quality Label? \

WHAT IS THE QUALITY LABEL?

The Quality Label is a process that certifies that an organisation is able and willing to carry out high quality solidarity activities in compliance with the principles, objectives and quality standards of the European Solidarity Corps. Obtaining a Quality Label is a precondition for participation in volunteering activities.

WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENT TYPES OF QUALITY LABEL?

There are three types of Quality Label, depending on the role(s) that the organisation wishes to play in the process:

  • Host role - covers the full range of activities related to hosting a participant, including the development of a programme of the young person's activities and providing guidance and support to the participant during all the phases as appropriate;
  • Support role - entails supporting, preparing and/or training participants before departure, a mediation between them and their host organisations and/or providing support to participants upon return from their activity;
  • Lead role - for organisations who apply for grants, manage and coordinate volunteering projects. This role cannot be awarded independently, organisations must hold a Quality Label for host/support in order to be able to act in a lead capacity. ...

Erasmus Charter for Higher Education (ECHE)

The Erasmus Charter for Higher Education (ECHE) provides the general quality framework for European and international cooperation activities a higher education institution may carry out within Erasmus+. The award of an ECHE is a pre-requisite for all higher education institutions located in a Programme country and willing to participate in learning mobility of individuals and/or cooperation for innovation and good practices under Erasmus+.

Erasmus Charter for Higher Education on EACEA webpage

Every year, the European Commission - via the Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency – publishes a specific call for proposals that sets the detailed conditions to be followed and qualitative criteria to be met in order to be awarded with an ECHE. This call is available on the website of the Executive Agency.

For HEIs established in a Partner Country, the ECHE is not required as such HEIs are not eligible to sign the Charter. However, they must adhere to the ECHE principles through inter-institutional agreements with their partner HEI established in Programme Countries.

KA120 - Erasmus Accreditations

The three KA120 - Erasmus Accreditations (Schools, VET and Adult Education) are preparatory calls for the future Erasmus programme (2021-2027).

Successful applicants for Erasmus accreditation will gain easier access to funding opportunities in the future Key Action 1 for School Education, VET or Adult Education. Current Erasmus+ VET Mobility Charter holders can also apply for this call (KA120-VET) to transfer their charter to the future programme.

Erasmus accreditation is a tool for education and training organisations in adult education, vocational education and training (VET), and school education that want to open up to cross-border exchange and cooperation. Award of the Erasmus accreditation confirms that the applicant has set up a plan to implement high quality mobility activities as part of a wider effort to develop their organisation.

In addition, organisations currently holding a valid Erasmus+ VET Mobility Charter can transfer their accreditation to the future Programme by applying to this Call. These organisations may apply for a specific light procedure for VET Mobility Charter holders. As part of this Call, the current VET Mobility Charter holders may also be awarded an excellence label to recognise their past work and dedication to quality.

KA130 - HED Erasmus accreditation for higher education mobility consortia

Higher education institutions (HEIs) must have been awarded the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education (ECHE) before
applying for a mobility project to their Erasmus+ National Agency. By signing the Erasmus Charter for Higher Education,
higher education institutions commit to provide all the necessary support to mobile participants, including linguistic
preparation. Mobile participants can use online language support to improve their foreign language competences
before and/or during mobility.

Erasmus Accreditation for Youth

The Erasmus accreditation in the field of youth is a tool for organisations that want to open-up their activities to cross-border exchange and cooperation. Becoming accredited allows organisations to join the Programme and gain simplified access to funding for learning mobility activities in the field of youth under the future Erasmus programme (2021-2027).

Erasmus accreditations are a tool for organisations that want to open-up their activities to cross-border exchange and cooperation and are designed for organisations that plan to implement learning mobility activities on a regular basis. Awarding of the Erasmus accreditation confirms that the applicant organisation has appropriate and effective processes and measures in place to implement high quality learning mobility activities as planned and use them to benefit the youth field.

Previous experience in Erasmus+ (2014-2020) is not a requirement.

Quality Label

The Quality Label is required for all organisations that wish to participate in volunteering activities, either as lead organisations or as partner organisations with host or support roles. Awarded organisations can publish their opportunities on the European Youth Portal, where they gain access to a pool of young people motivated to take part in the European Solidarity Corps.

The European Solidarity Corps Quality Label certifies that an organisation taking part in the Corps is able to provide the necessary conditions for young people to take part in solidarity activities.

The participating organisation must comply with the principles of the European Solidarity Corps and live up to the high quality standards set out in the Guide.

The Quality Label gives an applicant organisation access to the European Solidarity Corps funding opportunities and pool of motivated young people. ...

  • be selected from a drop down menu

  • be entered into a free text field

  • not be visible.
