In Beneficiary Module, when adding mobility activities in KA131 or KA171 projects, the Outer-most region flag may be available in the From-To section of the mobility activity details.

This flag indicates that the mobility activity participant is coming from or going to:

  • an outer-most region of an EU Member State, or
  • a third country associated to the Programme, or
  • OCT (overseas countries and territories) associated to a EU Member State or a third country associated to the Programme.

The flag may also be checked by default under certain conditions, or unchecked and read-only, depending on the other information provided in the mobility activity details. Please see the specifics for the action type of your project in the Erasmus+ programme guide.

For KA131, the following conditions apply:

  • If the selected Sending country has an outer-most region or OCT (Denmark, France, Spain, Portugal and the Netherlands), then the flag Outer-most region is editable, so that you can check it if the Mobility activity participant is in fact coming from a higher education institution (HEI) in an outer-most region or OCT (both for short-term and long-term mobility activities).
    The 'Outer-most region' flag
  • If the selected Sending country does not have an outermost region or OCT (all countries, except Denmark, France, Spain, Portugal, and the Netherlands), the flag Outer-most region is not available. Also, during the import, it is set to No/unchecked.

Also, if the selected Activity type is:

  • Student mobility for studies, and
  • Student mobility for traineeships,

then:

  • If the Receiving country is a third country (regions 1 to 12) then the Outer-most region flag is unchecked and read-only
  • If the Outer-most region is checked, then the Individual support - grant not required flag is not displayed
  • The Distance band, based on which the proper travel support will be calculated, can be selected only if the flag Outer-most region is checked, and the Receiving country is:
    • For Call Years 2021 and 2022: a Programme country or a Partner country from Regions 5 or 14
    • For Call Year 2023: a Programme country or a Partner country from Regions 13 or 14
  • A different base amount for individual support and the top-up amount for traineeships (if the Activity type is Student mobility for traineeships) will be received by participants if:
    • the Outer-most region flag is checked, and
    • the Long-term mobility activity flag is checked, and
    • For Call Years 2021 and 2022: the Receiving country is a Programme country or a Partner country from a third country not associated to the programme (Region 5 or 14), or
    • For Call Year 2023 onwards: the Receiving country is a Programme country or a Partner country from a third country not associated to the programme (Region 13 or 14).

For KA171, if the Sending/Receiving country belongs to the group of OCT countries, then the Outer-most region is checked.

The list of OCTs and additional information can be found online on Overseas countries and territories.

For more information about the Partner countries in different regions (third-countries not associated to the Programme), see the Programme Guide, pages 36 and 37.
