  • ISCC EU: International Sustainability & Carbon Certification – certification scheme for EU biofuel compliance

  • SCS: Sustainability Certification Scheme – validates environmental and sustainability compliance


Technical Measurements

  • LCA (incl. et): Life Cycle Assessment including extracted transport – total GHG emissions from production to use

  • CEF: Carbon Emission Factor – used in emission calculations for compliance

  • Energy (MJ): Megajoules – unit of energy used to measure fuel content

  • gCO₂e/MJ: Grams CO₂ equivalent per megajoule – carbon intensity of a fuel

  • Max Blend Ratio: Maximum allowable % of SAF blended with conventional jet fuel


Market & Operations

  • AFS: Alternative Fuel Supplier – supplies sustainable aviation fuels

  • AO: Aircraft Operator – entities using aviation fuel (e.g., airlines)

  • POS: Proof of Sustainability – certifies fuel’s sustainable attributes

  • SAF: Sustainable Aviation Fuel – renewable alternative to fossil jet fuel

  • FPoM: Fuel Put on Market – UDB feature to declare traceable fuel stock availability


Sustainability Categories

  • R-eligible: Renewable-eligible – qualifies for renewable targets/incentives

  • F-eligible: Fuel-eligible – meets aviation fuel specification standards

  • Zero-rating: Tax or duty exemption based on sustainability regulations
