The Data Browser unifies the existing functionalities provided by “Tables, Graphs and Maps (TGM)” and “Data Explorer”. The tool adds additional functionality when consulting data and metadata: filtering on data dimensions, graphic data display (line, bar and map charts) which makes it easy to compare indicators and geographical areas.
The data browser is divided into three main sections:
1) Row: Determining the rows (GEO as default dimension)
2) Column: Variable dimension determining the values in the table (e.g CROPS, ANIMALS, WSTATUS)
3) Pages: Any other dimensions (e.g AGRAREA, LSU, SO_EUR, FARMTYPE)
Customize dataset
The Drag and Drop box -below the dimension of Row and Column box- allows to swap dimensions or add any other dimension from pages to display more rich and complex datasets.
For instance, we can simply pull the Time dimension in the Row section. This will show each region-year as an observation.
To drag other dimensions in Row or Column, it is important to check at least two classes within the dimension. For instance, we would like to combine UNIT and CROPS as columns, we would need first to click on the little + in the right top corner of the dimension Unit of measure to enable all classes, such as HA and HLD.
Then UNIT will appear in the Page box and we can drag it below CROPS.
