The EC branded core website, also known as the European Commission website hosts general information shared by many different websites or departments and serve serves as hubs for onward navigation to further thematic content and/or specific services such as web information systems (databases).

The core sites are owned and managed exclusively by DG COMM and the template is provided for information (only). DGs are not supposed to use it. The EC branded core website uses the components of the Europa Components Library (ECL) .
