Purpose

Use the Featured item content type to highlight information or news that can be found in greater detail either on an European Commission website page or external website.

Deploy the Featured item content type in combination with the page content type.

Rules

commission.europa.eu:

Use the Featured item content type to highlight information or news on another content page of ec.europa.eu/info/. Use featured items to promote something on a temporary basis, i.e. not to replace the normal navigational blocks.

other EC branded websites:

Implementation and use of the featured item content type is recommended if the site hosts a significant volume of relevant content.

Background

You can view examples of featured items on the European Commission website's home page (see 'Featured').

With the Featured item content type, you can upload an image to highlight information or news items found elsewhere on the European Commission website, or on another website.

Fill in the Featured item content type fields, including Title, Description and Image, and Internal content, if required.
