Purpose

Use the Person content type to publish an individual's professional profile on the European Commission website, or to add persons (e.g. speakers at an event) to other pages.

The Person content type can be used in combination with the Contact, Job and File content types.

Rules

If hosted on the European Commission website, all professional profiles of persons or event speakers must be published using the person content type.

Guidelines

Consult DG Comm's content types guidelines to using the Person content type if you need to create an individual's profile on the European Commission website.

Background

By using the Person content type, you can create a short profile of a person (both European Commission officials and external persons) that can be linked to from generic pages, department pages or event pages. This avoids duplication and means that any updates to the original Person profile will be reflected across the site wherever the profile appears.

A profile usually includes a person's name, title and portrait photo. It is also possible to add a CV, provide a professional biography of that person in a timeline format, include contact details and show documents/publications relating to the profile.

Training

DG Communication organises regular Content management system training sessions.
